Here’s a race in Sweet Home, Oregon that is one to strongly consider - the Foster Lake Trail/Off-Road Run. This race will occur Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. The race is an out-and-back which will begin at Lewis Creek County Park (off North River Road). And, there will be tons of parking, so nothing to stress about on race morning!
This five mile run will encounter some mud, and you will be dodging an occasional tree stump or two. The first ~2.5 miles will be raced on mostly flat trails with a handful of tiny ascents and descents. The second half of the race is on the bottom of the reservoir! Don’t worry, no SCUBA gear is required, just be prepared to get dirty.
At the end of the race you’ll be treated to some post-race food and drink. This race also supports the local Sweet Home Trails.
If you get registered by November 10, the fee to sign-up is $25. From November 11 – November 20 until 11:50 p.m., the cost to race will be $35.
This is certainly a race that would be a great option to add to your pre-Thanksgiving (calorie minimizing) racing plans. See you at the races!
