This chip timed event will be capped at 800 participants for the half marathon, with a course time limit of 3.5 hours. The race will start at 9 a.m. Day of race packet pick-up and registration (if space is available) starts at 7 a.m., and there is a bag check. Want to run with your child in tow? No problem, strollers are allowed, but no dogs. And there is a kid’s race! More information below.
Your half marathon registration fee includes a race shirt, goodie bag, finisher medal (the medal was fabulous for 2012!), after race beer from a local brewery (yet to be determined), a BBQ, music from DJ Paradox, and age group awards 3 deep for each age division. You will find porta-potties at the start/finish and on the course. Additionally, four aid stations will await you on the half marathon featuring water and electrolytes.
Now onto the beautiful course you will run! You will wind your way through paved trailed in the scenic park, then run on some country roads. Note that there are two category 5 hills on the half marathon course, one at approximately the 3 mile point and again at approximately the 11 mile point. Check out the course map for specific details.
Want to bring the whole family to this event? GREAT! There is a Kids “Dirt” Dash (0.5 miles), as well as a 5 mile race. The 5 mile race will feature 2 aid stations with water and electrolytes. If you’re under 18, registration is only $18 for the 5 mile race! Energy Events is proud to offer this program for ages 8-18, as it is a perfect way to keep your teenagers involved in the running/walking sport while keeping costs low.
Ready to go? Sign-up now, remember only 800 participants for the half-marathon, and I’ll see you at the races!
