Join your fellow runners on Sunday, October 27 at 10 a.m. at the Peavey Arboretum for the McDonald Forest Trail Run 5k & 15k. This course is a real quad-killer, too, so come prepared, or know what you are in for! These are the best kind of trail races! For the 15k, you will experience an elevation gain of approximately 1,450 feet! If it is a sunny day (which of course, it will be, right?!), you will have such an amazing view from the top (and along the entire course). If it is rainy (it never rains in Oregon!), then come prepared for a nice impromptu ‘mud-run’! You’ll be racing on single track trails and logging roads in the Oregon State University’s McDonald Forest.
Registration is available via mail only, or on race day, if slots still remain. Your $33 pre-race entry fee will come with a high performance shirt if you register by October 7 (hurry!!). $20 is the cost without a shirt, and $25 at the start line if space is available, without a shirt. The race is capped at 350 participants, and the t-shirt deadline is October 7, so definitely solidify your decision quick! The fabulous team at Eclectic Edge Racing will be providing timing.
Parking at Peavey Arboretum is limited, so do your best to carpool, or run to the start from your house (hey, sounds like the best option to me!). The race will start at 10 a.m. sharp, so be prepared to arrive early to take care of everything you need to prior to hittin’ the trails.
Packet pick up will occur Saturday, October 26 at Five Star Sports in Corvallis from Noon to 4 p.m., or pick up your packet on race day (give yourself plenty of time!) at the Forestry Cabin from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Awards will be presented to the first male and first female finishers, the first male and female masters (40+ age group), and the first place winner of each age group. No duplicate awards will be handed out.
Definitely think about joining this race, and secure your high performance shirt no later than October 7. See you at the races!!
