The entire family is welcome, and can participate in this event. Walkers are welcome, jogging strollers are allowed (please start at the back), and kids are welcome as well (with adult supervision, please)!
The Panther Pride run course will start at St. Pius X Church/School campus and proceed through beautiful neighborhoods in the Cedar Mill area (near Portland). The course will have some hills, so if you are like me, and a hill lover, this will be an awesome race course. For the most part, racers will be on quiet neighborhood streets, but a portion of the race will occur on Saltzman Road, which is fairly busy. You will find one water course near the mid-point of the 3.1 mile course, as well as first aid and refreshments at the finish line.
Need a little carb load prior to Saturday's race? The St. Pius X Knights of Columbus will don their chef hats and prepare a full dinner for you and the family to enjoy! The menu includes a vegetarian or meat sauce spaghetti dinner, with breadsticks and salad (beer and wine available, too!). Tickets are $9 per person, or a maximum total of $30 per family. What is really awesome about this is you can eat, and pick up your running packet at the same time! Same day packet pick-up will also be provided on the school field from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Don't know what your schedule is like right away? Not to worry, you can register on site race morning; just add $10 for same day registration. And the best part?! Everyone who registers will receive a Nike running shirt, which is included in your registration fee. Also, the top three overall male and female finishers will receive a medal and awards. The top three male and female finishers in each age division will receive a medal.
This is going to be a great race, and I highly encourage everyone to check it out, and get registered today! See you at the races!
