This year, the race will start at Splash! at Lively Park at 8:30 a.m. You can choose to run or walk the 5k (3.1 miles) course. One aspect of this race that makes it so wonderful it the course route. You weave through lovely, quiet neighborhood streets. Folks typically come outside and cheer on runners from their front yard. And - you can begin to smell the Thanksgiving dinners being started in the houses along the course. It's divine!
Bring the entire family to this event. Adults may register for the event for only for $15, or $25 for the run/walk and a long-sleeved tech shirt. Kids, up to age 14, may participate in the 5k run/walk free of charge, or pay $10 for a long-sleeved tech shirt (or youth t-shirt) to proudly wear on Thanksgiving! Children in strollers do not need to be registered, as they will not need a bib number. Please leave all dogs at home, as they are not allowed on the race course. If you wish to secure the lovely long-sleeved tech shirt, make sure to register no later than November 19. The youth sized shirts are 100 percent cotton t-shirts, but adult sized tech shirts are available - they tend to run a little large, so order your size accordingly. Packet pickup will take place Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27 at Willamalane Center (250 S 32nd St., Springfield, Oregon). There is no day of race registration - register in advance.
After you finish running off your turkey dinner, spend time playing at Splash! at Lively Park in the waves! The pool will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at no addition charge. Make sure to stick around for the awards ceremony for this race, too!
I love this event, and I hope you do, too! Get signed up now and participate in a classic Springfield/Eugene area tradition that is not to be missed!
